Our Mission
Our goal is to ensure the district gets the right sort of solar farm in the right place; to make sure the benefits are maximised and the damage and risks minimised – and that everyone is treated fairly. We are a not-for-profit group.

We started only a couple of months ago as a small group of local graziers, farmers, hobby farmers, environmentalists, retirees and families. Over time the number of people in the broader Braidwood community who share our concerns about this DA has grown to a large number.

Our journey started by attending one of the two information sessions held by EDPR/BCE (the applicants) on the evening of March 19 2026.
We quickly met with neighbours in the small Ballalaba area to discuss what we’d heard.

The population of Ballalaba is small. It’s come as a pleasant surprise to us to find that after only three weeks since starting awareness campaign 350+ have signed our petition….many have made comments as to why they did so. Their words speak for themselves.
IN THE FUTURE
We intend to post the ads we’re placing in the local newspaper as they’re run
We will also post articles/pieces critical of our stance-and our responses to them
Over time we will write detailed pieces on
- The community consultation process - strengths and weaknesses
- The approval process - the role of elected representatives versus experts/bureaucrats.
- The use and misuse of ‘independent’ expert reports
- Hiding behind ‘commercial in confidence’ agreements
- Who owns what in the regional solar farm rollout
